The last year has been a tough one for a lot of people and we are starting to wake up and realize that we have to fight for the life that we want. Whether it’s the daily grind or the state of the government that gets you down, this dance seeks to remind us that we have to keep making art, keep building community, keep living, and keep on keepin’ on.

Please visit My e-Lysium Channel for more videos of inspiring dancers and musicians, named in honor of Azam Ali’s album Elysium. Her lyrics for Endless Reverie were a sort of epiphany for me as a person who gives up too easily, running instead of dealing, only to find that running causes more problems than toughing it out.

Waiting by the wayside of an endless reverie where all the things I run from are sure enough to find me. -Azam Ali, Elysium/Endless Reverie

More often than not, I’ve found myself wishing I’d kept trying. Where would I be now? Somewhere better, most likely. That is why, no matter how many times I want to give up on this field we call Graphic Design, or how many times others tell me it’s not worth the frustration, I still need to “keep on keepin’ on”.
