Kyrridwen is the light-of-life kitten that my roommate, Gina, brought home a couple months ago. She likes to name her pets after Gods and Goddesses, so with that in mind (and knowing she wanted something Celtic) I suggested Cerridwen, who was thought to be inspiring and magical. She rules over death, fertility, regeneration, astrology, herbs, science, poetry, spells, knowledge and so on. See more here. Gina liked the name, but chose the spelling Kyrridwen, so we could shorten it to Kyrri. Little did we know how fitting that name was to be for her. She makes a wonderful addition to the Palmeri/Cella household: a household of creativity and thirst for knowledge and love.
I feel very lucky to be a part of her life for the time being. I joked the first day after Kyrri spent with us that I was so attached to her already, that Gina was stuck with me for the next 20 (give or take a few) years. She didn’t bat a fabulous eyelash. ;-p
Kyrridwen will melt your heart with her cuddly, playful, purr-crazy nature. Anyone with a broken heart can begin to mend with this little love-muffin snuggling up to your face every day.
Not to be overlooked is Kyrri’s extremely handsome, older brother, Romulus, featured in these photos as well. As you can see they make a great pair. Romulus has been a sweet, tolerant, good influence for the new, rambunctious, little firecracker in the house.
No doubt, I will be posting photos of her and Rommy regularly and telling their stories. Feel free to join in the conversation.
